As we pray to our God to heal our land of this growing pandemic, will God hear our prayer or will He turn His ear away from us?

In the book of Isaiah, God uttered some very profound words for us to ponder. The Lord said that Heaven is His throne and the Earth is only a stool for His feet to rest on. He owns everything that we see and we don't see. He is an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent Divine Being. He is so awesome and great that the Lord asked, "What kind of a house will you build for me?

In the same way as we come to God, did it ever occur to you that He could also be asking you a question as to what kind of worship are you going to offer Him? How are you going to say your prayers in front of Him? Is it the same prayer that He often hears from you in order to meet your needs and for your wish to be granted? The angels who are glorious beings are the best worshipers and singers in the heavenly realm. They are always bowing and adoring Him in heaven. They never stop to glorify and magnify His name. As we come to the Lord, could He be asking us also what kind of honor and praise are we going to bestow on Him so that His hands will move to answer our prayers?

We do not have the same ability like the angels have in praying and worshiping the Almighty. However, God gave us the answer in order to gain His favor and His answer was clear. The Lord said that He favors those who are humble and contrite in spirit. Those people who stand in awe and fear His words.

In this time of uncertainty where the virus is on the rise, let us then pray for humility, a contrite spirit and the heart to tremble at His words. Let us also ask for the forgiveness of our sins so that He will answer our prayer.

Thus says the LORD:
“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word."
(Isaiah 66:1-2)
